Managing the New Workforce

Objectives

In this one day workshop, participants will explore:

  • What the fundamental difference between generations are;


  • How experience shapes values and how these are communicated;


  • Practical steps to manage diversity within a team; and


  • How to motivate individuals to be encouraged by their differences.

  • Outline

    Through a process of retrospective learning and experiential exercises, the workshop content covers:

  • Understanding diversity;


  • Defining generational 'value' difference;


  • Ways to connect with staff of different ages, with different values and different life expectations;


  • The effect of 'up-aging' has on the way in which workplace work;


  • Understanding the needs of people of different ages;


  • Understanding how different identity factors i.e. gender, religion, sexuality, ethnicity influence our core values;


  • Understanding the role of individuals values and their effect on individual motivation and expression;


  • Strategies for making workplace change in order to attract and retain the new workforce; and


  • Skills how to manage and motivate the new workforce.

  • Methodology

    To anchor the learning and winning behaviour, the workshop incorporates:

  • Retrospective learning activities;


  • Skills based practice in a real world context; and


  • Easy to understand theory on the psychology of motives and core value behaviours.

    HR Managers, HR Executives, Line Managers, Supervisors and those who need to manage a diverse workforce.
